SMACNA On-line Supervisor Safety Course - 3 Token Subscription
This program is a series of webinars targeted towards supervisors, foreman, office managers, and project managers who have (or should have) responsibility for implementing and managing company safety and health programs.  These supervisory responsibilities include training workers, project pre-planning, recordkeeping, jobsite inspections for hazard identification, hazard corrective actions, accident investigation, as well as interaction with clients, general contractors, and other subcontractors.

The topics covered in these webinars are important for maximizing the supervisor’s role in a successful safety and health program.  Although OSHA compliance is a concern for all companies, the information in these sessions will focus on best practices and the “business side of safety” in order to provide attendees with a different perspective towards safety and health than they might not get in an OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 class.

Eight webinars will be presented in 2013.  The webinars will be 60 minutes including 10-15 minutes of “Q&A” and will be provided by a combination of SMACNA Safety and Health Committee members, the SMACNA Director of Safety and Health Department, and subject matter experts.  The first webinar, OSHA Recordkeeping and OSHA Incidence Rates, will be held in late March 2013.  A complete list of available webinar sessions is at the end of this article.

The sessions are being offered as a “selection bundle”.  That is, a SMACNA member can sign up for all eight webinars, a select five webinars or a select three webinars based on the intended audience the member wants to train.

The benefit of “bundling” is that, due to the topics being covered, some companies may have various “supervisors” attending different sessions.  For example, an office manager should attend sessions covering recordkeeping and PPE; while a project manager may attend pre-project planning and fall protection; while a site superintendent would attend  pre-project planning, construction hazards, and OSHA inspections.

A “Certificate of Completion” will be available to all attendees for each webinar.  A website link will be broadcast at the end of the webinar and in the follow up email sent by the webinar provider, Peach New Media.  The link will be an on-line form that the company representative completes with the names of attendees and assurance of attendance.   SMACNA will prepare the certificate and send them out to the company.
